The award ceremony was preceded by a round of talks moderated by Nina Ruge with Heinz Mack, Dr Friedhelm Hofmann, Bishop Emeritus of Würzburg, Dr Jürgen Rüttgers, former Federal Minister and Prof. Dr Jürgen Wilhelm, lawyer and author. The laudatory speech at the award ceremony was held by: Gloria Princess of Thurn and Taxis.
